SPORTS SHIRT SPORTS MEMORABILIA FRAMING

We frame almost as many cycling jerseys as we do football shirts. Although these items of sports wear pose some additional framing challenges due to their super elastic properties we are experts in making them look great for the wall, preserving the memory of the event for years to come. Like with almost everything we do here in our Soho workshop, the framing choices are huge. Just let us know what you would like and we will do our best to make it a reality.

Jockey Jackets are silky, voluminous, and we worked out that as shown in the photograph this is the best way to display them.

We are experienced in framing both single items of sports clothing as well as entire sets, whether different items as seen in this photograph or multiples of the same shirt, jacket, top etc, when a client would like expert gift framing, for example.

Leotards, shorts, even underpants and bikinis, we have framed it all, and every frame we make can be customised to show off the garment to its best ability.

Rowing is a very popular Olympic sport and we can frame this memorabilia in a variety of ways from the relatively simple to the most elaborate style possible. This picture shows the paddle part of an oar alongside a text box and photography.

A base in the terminology of the game. We framed this on an acrylic plinth with a crystal clear acrylic covering. These types of specially commissioned frames can be made either to hang or to display on a flat surface.

We think framed football look great on the wall. We devise fixings for the particular boot in question so as not to damage them in any way with holes for screws etc. For this set we made special custom fixings using the screw-in studs to hold them in place and to give the boots the effect of floating inside the picture frame.

This beautiful pair of silken ballet shoes we framed in a deep custom milled box frame that we gently coloured to compliment the pinky peach of the shoe material. We then applied a soft finishing wax to protect the stained wood. Although photographed on a flat surface the finished frame was built to be hung on the client’s wall.

We frame many marathon medals alongside photography and sometimes bibs throughout the year and from races that occur around the globe. Frames for these sports events can be as complex or a simple as you wish.

Bats and balls we frame it all. For both we use specially made clear acrylic fixings to hold the items in place as unobtrusively as possible. Backing boards and spacers can be customised in any material or colour, and the picture frame itself can also be customised in respect to the wood type and finish, or painted colour.

These types of frames for sports equipment, bats, balls, etc, can incorporate engraved plaques as well as photography. We often place shaped window mounts around them to increase the decorative aspects of the finished frame.

Boxing memorabilia usually consists of either title belts or gloves and we have a lot of experience framing both. Unsigned memorabilia usually have engraved plaques and sometimes photography inside the frame as well.

Rugby shirts are often very large so we usually are asked to reduce them to more manageable proportions by some clever mounting.

For this special motorcycle jacket the client did not want glass so we designed and made a special clear acrylic hanger for it. The backing board behind the jacket was a type of linen chosen by the client.
