We provide a full plaque engraving service here at SohoFrames. These are normally used in place of a printed text box (although we also offer this) when the text component of a picture frame needs to stand out more clearly. An engraved plaque can add a lot of beauty to the overall effect of a picture frame. Six of the most popular types of engraved plaques are shown below in either “silver” or “gold.” Cost depends both on the size of the plaque, the number of characters, and the style of lettering. We can usually turn around custom engraved plaques in 24-48 hours, sometimes faster if required, for example, for a sameday framing project.

Engraved plaques can be inserted into an aperture cut into the window mount, as seen in the below photographs, or they can be floated on top of the mount. We can also attach them to the outside of the picture frame with either a bonding agent or small screws. For our hand-finished frames we can also recess the plaque into the wood.

Engraved plaques are often requested for football shirt frames and other sports memorabilia, wedding gifts, set below both photographs and vinyl records to commemorate the first dance.
