Mirrors can be much more than the sum of their parts in terms of the object itself. There is the artistic beauty and the craftsmanship. But also in the new dimensions they create to the viewing experience when observed are part of the overall interior design concept of a given space.

Like all trends, this particular type of gorgeous mirror framing evolved from the creation of one of our core areas of expertise. This is the making or circular and oval picture frames, something we do for both artworks and mirrors (and also sometimes for windows too).
This design trend incorporates different shapes of mirror into a single unified frame. The different mirror elements, which in the design you can see in the photographs on this page give the frame three apertures or windows. These windows also usually contain glass with different surface profiles.

You can see from the images on this page that this mirror in the mirror frame has what we call a reeded profile. This is a picture frame design that we saw on an antique frame when passing a bric-a-brac street market some years ago. We decided to recreate it, and it has proved very popular. Finished in black it has a wonderful art-deco look.
We carved the frame you can see here from solid Tulip wood plank that we then stained black and lightly polished with hard wax oil. Every mirror frame that we make meets the client’s exact specifications. The profile can be as simple or complex as you like. If you’re struggling putting your design idea down on paper, then all we would need is a rough sketch or a visual to start the process of making a proper working drawing. There is usually no cost or obligation for this. We also offer a sample service. In fact, it is usually the best thing to do first when designing a unique frame. The sample allows both you the client and us to see if it works in real life. The First Step
